Peridot was referred to by the Ancient Egyptians as the gem of the sun, as they believed that it would encourage sweet dreams if worn at night, and clear thoughts in the day. Because of its magical properties it was also used to stud goblets for priests to drink from when conducting rituals that served the Gods of nature. Solid Gold is prized for its natural resistance to tarnishing, making it perfect for everyday wear, even in water. However, the lower the karat, the more prone it is to tarnishing and damage. For example, 9K gold is a more affordable option but can be more brittle and susceptible to issues than 18k gold.
Gold is a soft metal, so it's important to be mindful of bending or scratching your pieces. We recommend removing your jewellery during activities that could cause damage.
Store your pieces in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. We recommend using a jewellery box or pouch to prevent accidental scratches.
Clean Solid Gold jewellery by soaking it briefly in lukewarm water with a small amount of baking soda and dish soap. After soaking, rinse the jewellery and use a soft toothbrush to remove any residue. Dry it with a polishing cloth to restore its shine.
Limit cleaning to a maximum of two times per year to preserve the integrity of the gold.
