Our artisans are custodians of heritage methods and the art of working by hand. Using this deep experience, we offer a service that takes clients’ unworn items of heirloom jewellery (or raw components such as gold or gemstones) and transforms them into something new.
In this process, material elements of the client’s piece can be wholly or partially preserved, so that the sentiment and history live on in the new design.
It is a renaissance for the original jewel: its original materials are translated into a new creation that still carries with it the touch of the past.
The client contacts us with their existing piece or materials.
One of our expert consultants conducts an interview with the client to understand the story of the piece, what they are hoping to achieve, and to assess the composition of the piece.
The piece is sent to our studio to be dismantled and for a technical evaluation of its components: the carat of any gemstones, the quantity and karat of gold, etc.
The new design is developed in tandem with the client, and presented for review and approval.
The final piece is delivered to the client.

We believe in the stories that exist within jewellery pieces, and are invested in preserving these histories for generations to come. We also take the approach that authorship is not a matter of a single genius, but a collaborative creative process. Therefore, in remodelling jewellery, we maintain the art of the craftspeople who came before us while adding another chapter to the story of the piece. We can also imagine a time a century from now, when these pieces might be remade again, and another artisan will add their hands to ours, continuing the lineage of craftsmanship and allowing the story held within the materials to evolve across generations.
The techniques required to dismantle, redesign, and recreate an existing piece are very complex and highly skilled. Because all of our techniques (whether in Demi-Fine or bespoke Fine jewellery) involve using traditional techniques and working by hand, we have a team with the expertise, touch, and sensibility to work with older jewellery, while delicately preserving its parts so that they can be effectively translated into something new.
