The Kalimeris is a flower from the Aster family, first described by a French botanist called Alexandre Henri Gabriel de Cassini in 1825. It’s open petals spread across Asia and Hawaii, as well as Europe, bobbing in gentle, warm wind. In Greek tradition it was believed that the petals of such flowers were the tears of the Goddess of Innocence who was so sad at how few stars there were in the heavens that she cried. As her teardrops fell to the ground they bloomed into the gorgeous flowers we know today. The Kalimeris Ring is pictured here with ruby.
