Gold earrings comprising a cabochon garnet stud surrounded by a wheel design, under which is suspended a pearl drop.
Just as the throes of love spur on the amorous almost without their conscious knowledge, so cupid has been depicted. Two lovers harnessed to his chariot, he urges them to turn its wheels forward. The wheel, a symbol of the year’s cycle, is historically used in jewellery that marks occasions, such as anniversaries.
