The Alcyone Pendant is carved from a green agate stone, depicting a water bird that calls to mind halcyon days of freedom, exploration, and companionship. Alcyone, in ancient mythology, died at sea after her lover was struck by one of Zeus’ lightning bolts. The Gods, who took pity on the couple, then turned Alcyone and her dearest into living water birds, or “halcyons”, who lived forever through the spirit of these creatures. The birds themselves, when seen today, are said to nest on days when the sea is calm. The pendant is 18K solid gold, set with rubies.

The Relic Collection pieces are one off, hand etched pendants. Each stone is individually engraved by hand by artisans which means that every piece is truly one of a kind. These unique relics are then hand chosen and individually cast into 18K solid gold. If you wish to see alternative relic stones we have available for custom made designs, please contact us. What to know about Solid Gold jewellery ?

Solid Gold is prized for its natural resistance to tarnishing, making it perfect for everyday wear, even in water. However, the lower the karat, the more prone it is to tarnishing and damage. For example, 9K gold is a more affordable option but can be more brittle and susceptible to issues than 18k gold.

Gold is a soft metal, so it's important to be mindful of bending or scratching your pieces. We recommend removing your jewellery during activities that could cause damage.

How to store Solid Gold jewellery ?

Store your pieces in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. We recommend using a jewellery box or pouch to prevent accidental scratches.

How to clean Solid Gold jewellery ?

Clean Solid Gold jewellery by soaking it briefly in lukewarm water with a small amount of baking soda and dish soap. After soaking, rinse the jewellery and use a soft toothbrush to remove any residue. Dry it with a polishing cloth to restore its shine.

Limit cleaning to a maximum of two times per year to preserve the integrity of the gold.
