The Menvra is a golden pendant, set with two jade stones and engraved with an owl relief.
It takes its name from the Goddess Menvra, who is the Etruscan counterpart to Athena. Like Athena - one of whose emblems is the owl - Menvra is associated with war, art, wisdom, and medicine. However, unlike Athena, the Etruscans also believed Menvra to have domain over the weather, with myths being written about her capability as a thrower of thunderbolts. She is one of nine deities to have control over lightning and storms. Her very name, however, recalls owl-like wisdom. It comes from the ancient Greek root “mnem” - memory, mind.
