The image of two serpents intertwined is a venerable one, with deep roots in the Ancient Near East, particularly Mesopotamia. The word mushussu literally means furious serpents, and like other protective amulets is a fearsome symbol designed to ward off evil. These twin snakes would stand guard at temple doors, and were thought to be the companions of the storm-God Tishpak. Here they cradle a sacred emerald, the gem of clarity and inner truth.

When I first saw this ring I knew I had to have it! On so many levels it resonated with me. With skinny rings I am a size 8 but with fat rings I am a size 9 and then nine is perfect, a little bit loose on my ring finger but perfectly over my knuckles. The gold is exactly as pictured and the stone is gorgeous. The only problem I may have is not wearing it every day! Definitely my new favorite. My second piece from cleopatra’s bling, And I am very happy with this purchase!
