A more delicate version of the Cosimo Necklace, the Bia is a woven gold chain necklace, with Roman clasps cast from an original relic piece sourced by Olivia in the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul.
In a posthumous portrait by Branzino, Bia de’ Medici, daughter of Cosimo, wears a delicate-yet-rich gold chain at throat and waist. She is remembered in Bronzino’s portrait as a child haloed in light and clothed in Florentine silk. The clasps are part of the beauty of this piece, which can be worn with them at the nape of the neck, or as an additional detail at the throat.
Suits soft fabrics, candlelight, wood panelled rooms, and the impulse to remember.

Our gems are ethically sourced and almost exclusively natural, traced back to their origin through long-term relationships with certified suppliers. Our 18k Gold-Plated jewelry is coated with 1.5 microns of rich, 18k gold. While 18k gold plating is beautiful and, thanks to the skill of our artisans, relatively durable, it is in the nature of any plated object that it will naturally wear over time.
The better care is provided your 18k Gold-Plated jewelry, the longer the period it will retain its excellent condition.
Items that have experienced wearing can often be replated for a small fee. Contact us for more information.
How to store 18k Gold-Plated jewelry
To protect your 18k Gold-Plated jewelry, store it in a completely dry place, away from direct sunlight. For added protection, store it in an anti-tarnish pouch or case.
