Parian Signet Ring - 18K Gold Plated
Description
A sterling silver relic component with geometrical etching was sourced by Olivia in Istanbul. This, she brought to her studio, where she carved a golden signet ring with four claws in which to hold this relic. The Parian comes in larger sizes for a wider array of hands, including, for example, as a men’s ring.
The geometrical designs on the face of the gold and silver ring call to mind the architectural drawings of the Temple of the Sun from Poliphilo’s Strife of Love in a Dream. The building is a towering structure of white Parian marble, topped by a bronze weathervane in the form of a nymph, who shrieks as she pirouettes with the wind.

What to know about 18k Gold-Plated jewelry
Our 18k Gold-Plated jewelry is coated with 1.5 microns of rich, 18k gold. While 18k gold plating is beautiful and, thanks to the skill of our artisans, relatively durable, it is in the nature of any plated object that it will naturally wear over time.
The better care is provided your 18k Gold-Plated jewelry, the longer the period it will retain its excellent condition.
Items that have experienced wearing can often be replated for a small fee. Contact us for more information.
How to store 18k Gold-Plated jewelry
To protect your 18k Gold-Plated jewelry, store it in a completely dry place, away from direct sunlight. For added protection, store it in an anti-tarnish pouch or case.
How to clean 18k Gold-Plated jewelry
Gently wipe your pieces with a soft cloth or toothbrush to remove dirt and residue. Avoid using any polish, as it can wear away the delicate gold plating.
What to know about Sterling Silver jewelry
We use 925 Sterling Silver, a high-quality material made of 92.5% pure silver, and alloy for added durability. As a non-plated material, it will not experience wearing.
Tarnishing is a natural process for Sterling Silver, often caused by contact with air, water, and cosmetics. It can be worn in water (except in places containing natural minerals such as sulfur or chemicals such as chlorine) provided that it is thoroughly dried immediately afterwards.
How to store Sterling Silver jewelry
Sterling silver jewelry can oxidize and tarnish if not stored properly. We recommend keeping your jewelry away from direct sunlight which warms the air and can accelerate the chemical process of tarnishing. Most importantly it must be kept dry during storage. Humidity is a tarnish-accelerant.
How to clean Sterling Silver jewelry
The best way to keep your Sterling Silver jewelry in as-new condition is by wearing it often. If tarnishing does occur, simply clean your pieces with a small amount of silver polish and a soft polishing cloth. For a deeper clean, you can use a silver cleaner solution and gently buff with a silver polishing cloth.
To avoid scratches do not use abrasive cleaners or brushes. Ultrasonic cleaners are a safe alternative for a thorough cleaning.
