Angarika means “flame coloured flower” or “flame of the forest” in Hindi. Used as a girls’ name, it is also associated with an auspicious day, celebrated during the dark lunar waning phase of the moon. It is said to have begun when the son of Mother Earth, Angarak, used his dying wish to have his name always associated with Lord Ganesha. Thereafter, the Angarika Sankashti, or day of deliverance during troubled times, is treated as a day on which your wishes and hopes may come true, should you pray before the moonlight.
Each item is handcrafted and etched, made to order by our small team of enamel and gold artisans. Please allow a 4-6 week turnaround for these bespoke, made-to-order items. Each piece is unique, which we believe is what gives it its beauty.

Gold is a soft metal, so it's important to be mindful of bending or scratching your pieces. We recommend removing your jewelry during activities that could cause damage.

Store your pieces in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. We recommend using a jewelry box or pouch to prevent accidental scratches.
How to clean Solid Gold jewelry
Clean Solid Gold jewelry by soaking it briefly in lukewarm water with a small amount of baking soda and dish soap. After soaking, rinse the jewelry and use a soft toothbrush to remove any residue. Dry it with a polishing cloth to restore its shine.
Limit cleaning to a maximum of two times per year to preserve the integrity of the gold.

Materials
Enamel Type
Our pieces are enamelled by hand with hot enamel using the ancient technique of Champlevé, which dates to Byzantine and Medieval times.
How We Enamel
After hand-pouring liquid enamel into the opening in the metal formed through carving or casting, the enamel cools and bonds to the surface more durably than in cold-enamelling processes. It is then polished to sit flush to the surface, with a glossy sheen.
