The signet ring, available in gold or silver, is etched in enamel with the face of a bird, and studded with lapis lazuli.
It borrows its name from the mythic warrior woman Samiram or Semiramis of the region which covers present-day Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran. She was born to the Goddess of Fish, and a mortal father. However she was abandoned at birth, and was fed and raised by loving doves until she was discovered by the royal shepherd. As a consequence, she is often shown in temples with a golden dove.
During her life she married a king who fell in love with her because of the victories she won on the battlefield. After his death she wore the clothes of her son and went to war once again, convincing the soldiers that she was their new ruler.
The Samiram Ring is a tribute to the power of brave warrior women, also gentle enough to cradle a golden dove in their hands.
