In pagan Slavic folklore the rusalki were water spirits linked with fertility that were treated as benevolent souls of the rivers, lakes, and oceans. They dwelled in waterways and were celebrated in Spring, due to their connection with new life and abundance. Although they were not able to travel far from the water, sometimes they would climb the overhanging willow trees to sing their song to passing travellers. Their blond hair would appear greenish tinted when seen close up, and they would lead humans in wild dances that exhibited their lively spirits. Carved from pure Iranian Turquoise, and set with brown diamonds. Pictured in 18k solid yellow gold.
