These Turkish beaded bags are collectors items with designs from the 1970s that to this day are still being produced as part of a long cultural heritage. They originate within prisons, where men learn to string these precious glass beads from Czechoslovakia into intricate patterns that express their love, longing, and spirituality. This bag has had the name Gulçin (literally "person gathering roses") embroidered upon it in her honour, by Yaver who wishes to venerate her in his work, even while he is in prison.
