The crescent moon was the attribute of Luna and more specifically of Selene. It was later transferred to Diana (Artemis), offspring of the earth mother, and known not only as virgin but also as protectress of the newborn and symbol of fertility in her own right.

Olivia is heavily influenced by Astrology and the stars in her daily life, and wanted to create a pair of earrings that remind us of the magic that happens under the stars.
The moon has always been a symbol of the woman. We find this mysterious relationship between the three phases of the Moon, the seasonal rhythms of the Earth, and the three stages in a woman's life. All of this we can find symbolically depicted in the lunar image of the Goddess. She represented the primary image that influenced nearly all concepts of Deity for at least 20,000 years.
Zeus is associated with a lightning bolt. In this cultural arena (Greek), the symbolic meaning of lightning deals with strength, as well as intellect and 'bright ideas'. The Greeks also held lightning as a symbol of intuition and spiritual illumination.
