The necklace comprises a rectangular pendant featuring intricate Arabic calligraphy, suspended on classic Cleopatra’s Bling snake chain.
Named after the Ottoman sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, who ruled from 1520 to 1566, the necklace is a tribute to his patronage of the arts, including Islamic calligraphy. Suleiman was widely considered to be a just and open-minded leader, who created the conditions for societal religious tolerance while maintaining his faith. He was a skilled goldsmith, and supporter of artisans under his rule.
The necklace carries sacred religious text. Out of respect, we ask that it be worn only at the chest, not as an anklet or body chain. Inspired by Olivia's time as an apprentice to Turkish artisans and exposure to Islamic relics, this piece pays tribute to her exploration of Turkish and Middle Eastern themes, honoring her teachers and clients' support.
