Poached pear porridge

In Winter in Istanbul I had been having lots of porridges in the morning before exercise to give me energy and because in Winter it's important to eat warm breakfasts. Here's how you do it: 

Poach two whole pears in water with cardamon, cinnamon and some black pepper until soft. Set aside to cool slightly. 

 

Soak overnight in a pan:

1 cup of organic oats

half a cup of organic chia seeds

15 blackcurrants

3 dates

cinnamon powder

grated ginger 

 

Cook in the morning until the oats are very soft (for digestion) and top with the warm poached pears. I added honey and tahini and raw almonds for extra flavour.
